Christmas Goodies!

Saturday’s morning class was a theory class on Healthy Eating and Special Diets and how chefs need to take all these factors into consideration when planning for and preparing meals. Quite informative.

Afternoon class was a baking class on Christmas Goodies. First we made Eggnogs.

A few interesting observations-it was sweet, very sweet! Am not a big fan of eggy desserts but was surprised that did not really taste the 4 egg yolks that went into it. A pleasant concoction almost like a Payasam with alcohol ha ha!

Next was a Sticky Toffee Date Pudding. I have made this before so it was good to learn a different technique that included adding coffee into it. We also made a Coffee Butterscotch sauce to have with it. It was absolutely yummy!

We then made more Eggless Plum Cake (similar to yesterday) with excellent outcomes!

Then it was time to make the most fun part of the class-the Gingerbread House! We made the dough, rolled it all out, cut it to shape, baked it, assembled it and started decorating it!

Its coming together rather nicely and will be finished on Monday!

All in all a very productive Saturday afternoon! Have a good weekend all!
