A Bustling Throbbing Mumbai!

Sunday the 28 November involved exploring another more modern part of the city as we planned to attend the Bakery Business 2022 convention and exhibition at the Jio World Convention Centre at the Bandra Kurla Complex (fondly known as BKC). Will share more about our visit there in the next post!

The BKS is about 30 minutes from where we are staying so we decided to #belocal and take one of the autorickshaws that seem to be the lifeblood of public transport in this bustling city. We were told that you could hail one off the street and they are good in using the meter etc. Plus we have Uber to fare compare too!

So we hailed one and off we went zipping through the city weaving in and out of traffic like Tom Cruise in his fighter jet in Top Gun! We arrived on time and used another auto to get back too! Incredible how in spite of the drivers barely speaking English and we barely speaking Hindi managed to sign, gesture and mumble words that managed to get us to our destination! Getting around Mumbai-ticked.

(Our experience in the Bakery Business is in a separate post)

We came back and decided to walk around and go to a nearby mark. We then realised that this city is always on the go and there are people everywhere! This market (photo above) was heaving with people and it is called the Railroad Market. Sea of people moving all over the place, vendors shouting out bargains, entrepreneurship at its most basic level!

Thoroughly enjoyed our outing and adventure today!
