How about some Guacamole?

We jumped continents on Friday and landed in the Americas! Today’s culinary class was all about Tex-Mex food. We made Guacamole, Nachos, Mexican Rice and Salsa and made everything from scratch!

First we made the dough for the Nachos.

It was then time to make a yummy Mexican seasoning before making a nice big bowl of Refried Beans! Cook it down cook it down was the mantra of the hour:)

Then it was time to make the Guacamole and Salsa.

Then came the Mexican Rice.

In all this, I learnt that Cumin, Coriander Seeds, Lime, Jalapenos and Coriander Leaves formed the foundation of Tex-Mex food!

It was finally time to make the Nacho chips by hand.

Rolled out, docked, cut to shape and fried! Yummy-so crunchy and addictive! It was time to make the nacho and put it in the oven to bake with sauces and cheese. We then presented everything for photo time!

It was then time to have lunch which was absolutely delicious!

Afternoon class was all about Eggless Christmas baking which was a demo class with Chef Rakhee. We made an absolutely delicious Eggless Fruit Cake, Gingerbread Cookies, Yule Log and a savory Spinach and Cheese cups.

All in all a very enjoyable day!
